
General Information
January 18th, 1992 - the Republic of Austria recognizes the sovereignty of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
February 18th, 1992 - Kazakhstan and Austria establish diplomatic relations.
1995 - Kazakhstan opens its embassy in Austria.
November 2002 - Austria opens its consulate general in Kazakhstan. Honorary Consul - Klaus Reinhofer.
October 2nd, 2007 - September 4th, 2008 - Kairat Abdrakhmanov serves as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Austria. Since September 4th, 2008 H. E. Mr. Abdrakhmanov has been the Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the OSCE.
Since September 18th, 2007 - H. E. Ursula Fahringer has been the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Kazakhstan.
January 12th, 2009 - The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan H.E. Yerzhan Kazykhanov presents his credentials to Austrian Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev made an official visit to Austria on 9-11 September 2004, where he met with the Federal President of Austria Dr. Heinz Fischer.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kazykhanov presents his credentials to the Federal President of the Republic of Austria Dr. Heinz Fischer on 12 January 2009, in Vienna.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, visited Vienna on 18-21 February, 2010, where he met with Austrian Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer.
